11 yr old Penina is one of 46 Girls under 12yrs old from 43 Countries who have been nominated for a place in the 2010  ITTF World Hopes Team

A series of events have been planned for Fiji's young hopefulls to further impress the World Team selectors. The main selection competition in Oceania being the World Cadet Challenge & World Junior Circuit event being held in Auckland New Zealand, closely followed by the Oceania Championships.................. both tournaments in Auckland will have special under 12's events for Oceania's youngest talents to showcase thier skills and determination to reach thier respective goals.

Achievements

12-20th October 2007- Olympic Solidarity DNSS course participant.

15th Nov 2007- Achieved ITTF Bronze Skills Award.

23rd May 2008-Achieved ITTF Silver Skills Award.

30th May 2008-Fiji Games Team event; Senior ladies 1st Team member representing Lautoka district.
1st June 2008- Fiji Games Individual events; Reached Semi-final u-15 girls singles for bronze medal. Some notable wins against seniors in the Womens Open Singles pool.

8th Aug 2008- Butterfly Lautoka Olympic Day Tournament; Runner-up to Azalea Aumanu(Solomon islands) in u-14yrs Girls Cadet Singles, Winner u-10yrs Mixed(boys+girls) singles.

18th Dec 2009- Fiji Cadet/Junior Open; Runner-up u-15 Girls singles to Carolyn Xuan Li, Winner u-12 Girls singles, Winner u-15 girls doubles, reached semi final of u-12 mixed singles narrowly losing 1-2 to Kazutu Ikeda(Japan) after she finished the round-robin(5 player)group unbeaten.

19th Dec 2009- Fiji Senior Open; Winner B Grade Women’s Singles, Winner Open Women’s Doubles with Carolyn Xuan Li. Reached Semi Final Open Mixed Doubles with Steve Reilly.
Penina admirably Coached during the Fiji Open Mens singles final FIJI versus VANUATU after spending much of the day assisting with tournament administration & umpiring.

18th Dec 2009-PENINA's now famous quote on FIJI TV1 News whilst smiling/giggling;
